Customer Spotlight
Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, recently implemented a new intranet platform (ODConnect 2.0) to advance its digital transformation strategy. Part of the scope was to replace their existing search tool with one that was more reliable and integrated seamlessly with SharePoint Online and other firm systems, such as iManage and Aderant. They also wanted to provide their users with a much better search experience while ensuring it was accessible via mobile.
As the primary engagement channel for the firm, ODConnect 2.0 incorporates a new natural language-driven enterprise search powered by Upland BA Insight. BA Insight was proud to partner with Ogletree Deakins on this project, ensuring their enterprise search objectives were achieved. We worked closely with them to provide a tool that easily adapts and personalizes information for their attorneys and professional staff, positioning the firm to provide targeted content that learns as users engage with search.
As a result of this transformational and innovative project, Ogletree Deakins was the exclusive winner of the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) Distinguished Peer Awards in the Transformative Project of the Year category. This prestigious award recognizes a project that generates systemic change within an organization that could be used as a model for the legal industry. SmartHub 6.0 is in Beta with Exciting Enhancements
Our newest version of SmartHub offers a variety of new features and capabilities to provide a better search experience and improve productivity. These include:
Automated Q&A: Often when users search, they are looking for only a specific piece of information that is contained within a document, rather than the entire document. Automated Q&A parses documents to extract the specific information needed to answer questions. Questions can be defined in a text file or can be automatically extracted from analytics data. Once questions and content are analyzed, Automated Q&A configures “Question and Answer” settings in SmartHub, which can either be published immediately or held for review and approval.
UI Editor: This new capability greatly simplifies the process of doing routine configuration and maintenance tasks on SmartHub pages. It provides a UI for modifying branding and logos, configuring refiners, and modifying settings. It also automatically maintains the relationship between pages and settings files to simplify the file management process.
Security Roles: New in SmartHub 6.0 is the ability to provide role-based access to administrative capabilities in SmartHub. For example, a group of users could be given access to analytics reporting only, without the ability to access other administrative functions.
Alerts: Extending on the existing Save Search capability, users can “subscribe” to one or more of their saved searches and they will be automatically notified of new content that matches their saved searches. Users can choose to be notified weekly or they can select immediate notification, which will trigger an alert shortly after new content is added.
